The closures will begin at Point deHavre Road in Cheticamp and extend north to Cape Breton HighlandsNational Park. The closures will be in effect weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.Both directions of traffic will be affected periodically. Road crews are carrying out repaving work between 7 a.m. and 8p.m. weekdays and between 7 a.m. and noon Sundays. On the morning of Sunday, June 6, certain ramps will be fullyclosed and detours will be in place. During the week, one lanewill be open on ramps at all times. Traffic control will consistof signage and lane drops. INVERNESS COUNTY: Grand Etang Bridge Heavy trucks will be forced to detour around the Grand Etangbridge between Margaree and Cheticamp, on the Cabot Trail untilfurther notice. A detour for heavy trucks is available via Pembrooke Lake Roadand Carding Mill Road. The weight restrictions are posted and vary depending on thenumber of axles on the truck. COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 102 There will be intermittent lane closures on two sections ofHighway 102 until Tuesday, Aug. 31. Traffic travelling innorthbound lanes will be affected periodically while repaving iscarried out. Work will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Section 1 begins 1.3 kilometres north of Commo Road, nearStewiacke, and stretches 5.3 kilometres to Shortts Lake RoadMultiplate, near Brookfield. Section 2 begins from the north side of Robie Structure, nearTruro, and stretches 3.4 kilometres to the intersection ofHighway 102 and Highway 104. Traffic control will consist of signage and motorists are askedto use extra caution while driving in these areas. HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 103 Blasting will take place on Highway 103, at exits 3 and 4,between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until September 2004. Both eastboundand westbound motorists may experience short delays. Trafficcontrol consists of traffic control persons. Apainting project is being carried out and the lift span will notbe in operation. Larger marine vessels will not be able to passunderneath the bridge during this period. The work will take place from Monday to Saturday, between 7 a.m.and 6 p.m. There will be delays for vehicles for short periods of time.Traffic control will consist of traffic control persons. HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 101 One lane will be closed on the ramp onto the Trunk 1 underpassstructure off Highway 101 in Lower Sackville from Friday, May 28to Wednesday, June 30. Road crews will be carrying out bridgerehabilitation work. The lane closure will be in effect 24 hours a day until the workis completed. Traffic control will consist of barrels andbarriers. One lane will remain open at all times, but motorists mayexperience delays and are asked to use exercise extra cautionwhen driving in this area. CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Highway 105 Motorists are advised that there will be full lane closures onHighway 105 between Groves Point Road and the Highway 125interchange, near Halfway Road until Wednesday, June 30. Bothdirections of traffic will be affected periodically while roadcrews carry out cold planing and asphalt paving. Most of the work will take place at night, between 7 p.m. and 7a.m. weekdays, and between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. weekends. Alternative routes will be available for local traffic only viaRoute 305 or the Georges River Road. Traffic control will consistof traffic control persons. Motorists should expect short delays during these times and areasked to use extra caution when driving in this area. CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Route 209 Motorists are advised that Route 209, from North Greville Roadwesterly, will be reduced to one lane until further notice. Road crews will be carrying out ditching and repaving workbetween 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays. Traffic control will consistof traffic control persons. CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Highway 204 There will be closures on the northbound lane of Highway 204until Friday, June 11. The closures will begin at BrooksideElementary School and extend one kilometre to the Nappan River. Road crews will be carrying out excavation work at the edge ofthe highway between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays. Traffic controlwill consist of traffic control persons.
